Hi, I'm Terris
As a warm, heart-centered therapist, I am interested in joining my clients on a journey to live life more fully and authentically. My goal is to provide a safe, genuine space for individuals to explore their world together. We all face challenges throughout our lives, some of which develop within and others from external forces. I help my clients discover that they have choices, empowering them to create purpose and meaning in their life. We develop tools to thrive and live wholly by connecting individuals to their inner strengths. I am sensitive to acknowledging and highlighting that not everyone has equal choices and believe all can change.
My Passion
My passion is working with kiddos who have big hearts + big feelings. I do my best work with those looking for a nurturing environment to explore and express those feelings. With children ages 3-12, I utilize the therapeutic power of play and creative arts. As a Registered Play Therapist™, I pull techniques from child-centered play therapy and Adlerian play therapy to best fit the needs of each client. Clients can naturally explore, learn, and grow through developmentally appropriate mediums.
My Education
I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, a Registered Play Therapist™, a National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator.
