Hi, I'm Terris
As a warm, heart-centered therapist, I am interested in joining my clients on a journey to live life more fully and authentically. My goal is to provide an attuned, caring space where clients feel seen, supported, and understood. We all face challenges throughout our lives, some of which develop within and others from external forces. I help my clients discover that they have choices, empowering them to create purpose and meaning in their life. We develop tools to thrive and live wholly by connecting individuals to their inner strengths. I am sensitive to acknowledging that not everyone has equal choices and believe all are capable of change.
My Passion
My passion is working with kiddos who have big hearts + big feelings. I do my best work with those looking for a nurturing environment to explore and express those feelings. With children ages 3-12, I utilize the therapeutic power of play and creative arts. As a Registered Play Therapist™, I pull techniques from child-centered play therapy and Adlerian play therapy to best fit the needs of each client. Through developmentally appropriate medium, clients are able to naturally explore, learn, and grow.
My Education
I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia, a Registered Play Therapist™, a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. My work is informed by ongoing, specialized training in play therapy, child and adolescent development, and parent support.
